Your four rows

For each row, write one thing you really did (your self-reviews are the quickest source), then say which level it reads at. Your level is where most examples sit comfortably, not where your best one sits.

Scope: how big was the thing you owned?
Ambiguity: how unclear was the problem you were handed?
Influence: whose work did you change without being their manager?
Execution: how hard was the delivery?

Practise it out loud

Say it with a clock running and see where you went quiet or ran long.

What to know

  1. The verbs in a job ad carry most of the weight, more than the years.
  2. "Contributes" tends to read lower than "owns"; "sets direction" tends to read higher.
  3. The recruiter, not the ad, tells you the pay band.
